The Berkeley Garden Club

since 1932

Founded in 1932, The Berkeley Garden Club is an association of mostly amateur gardeners who meet monthly. At our meetings we share gardening experiences, discuss our gardening problems with Master Gardeners, explore Bay Area horticulture, and listen to experts on a variety of topics (see speaker list for a sampling of recent programs). We also exchange plants, socialize and have light refreshments. The Club's stated objective is "to stimulate th e knowledge and love of gardening among amateurs; to aid in the protection of native flora and fauna; and to encourage civic plantings." Although our objectives were created years ago, they still guide us today. Our members come from many cities in the Bay Area. We presently have 79 active members. Many of us have spent a lifetime gardening, others are new and eager to have questions answered. There is a great deal of sharing and caring among us. We are all enthusiastic about gardening and welcome anyone who shares our passion to find out more about the Club.(For further information on membership see "Becoming a member" or Contact Us). To see if the Club is a good fit for you, you are invited, without obligation, to visit 1 or 2 of our monthly meetings and experience the Club first hand.

MONTHLY MEETINGS We meet at Epworth Methodist Church, 1953 Hopkins St. in Berkeley, on the 3rd Tuesday of the month except for December, July and August. The general meeting starts at 1PM. There is a Members' Round Table at 11:30 AM; plant exchange at 12:30 PM; business meeting at 1PM; educational speaker at 2:15 PM. Our extensive library is open for browsing during the meeting and members may borrow books to take home.
